N.Y.C., man, chairs, and orange wall. I did 30 or 40 portraits of this man. As I left, I looked back and took this final shot – my favorite of the lot.
ALT: I met this gentleman right after a lecture in NYC. I loved the light on him and asked if I could do a portrait of him. He said yes, and I worked on it for almost five minutes. I never got what I thought was good, but he was tired and I thanked him and left.
When I got outside the building, I looked back and saw him in a context that was new to me. That was the shot.
